Jo and Nick’s Wedding Day at Chaucer Barn, Norfolk
Jo and Nick got married on 20th September 2025, and from the moment I arrived at Chaucer Barn in Norfolk, I knew this was going to be one of those weekends. The good kind. The “everyone’s staying, everyone’s chatting, no one’s rushing” kind. They described themselves as “yappers” and honestly… accurate. In the best way.

Getting Ready…
The morning unfolded across the barn in true communal style. Jo, her best women, mums and friends took over the upstairs lounge, before she headed to the flint bedroom for final touches. Meanwhile, the lads spread out in the newer part of the building, spilling into the pagoda whenever the weather allowed. Relaxed. No fuss. Just people being people.
Jo’s Rocky Horror-inspired wedding shoes made an appearance early on and set the tone perfectly. Fun, and a little bit bold! Hair by Flamingo Amy, make-up by Hollie Neve, and Jo’s dress by Kate Rosamond – all working together without any drama. Always a win.

A ceremony with meaning
The ceremony took place at the stone circle, which was the non-negotiable spot for Jo and Nick. Friends led readings, a close friend conducted the handfasting, and the cord from Ceotha tied it all together – literally and emotionally.
Jo’s love of crystals made its way into the setup, subtly decorating the circle. It felt personal, intentional, and very them. Quiet moments. Proper emotion. No performative nonsense.
We talked confetti beforehand and decided on a mix – bubbles and traditional confetti. Top tip: bubbles photograph beautifully when people actually use them. These guests absolutely did.

Drinks, Games and good food
Post-ceremony drinks and hors d’oeuvres were served outside the barn, with florals by Myrtle and the Bee doing their thing effortlessly. The wedding breakfast followed in the Games Room, catered by Che Figo – and yes, it was as good as you’d expect.
Speeches came after food (a sensible choice), followed by cake from The Fine Cheese Co. and coffee served from a horsebox. Casual brilliance.
Games included a custom crossword and a sweepstake for the first dance song. Competitive? A little. Fun? Definitely.

DIY Disco Energy
The evening reception took place in the main hall. Music was fully DIY – Nick and Jo curated everything themselves, with lighting and sound from Epic Event Hire. Glow sticks appeared. Albums were laid out for guests to flick through. Filly & Foal handled the bar, and The Bucket List kept everyone fed later on.
First dance? “Walk With Me (When the Sun Goes Down)” by Show of Hands. Sung loudly. By everyone.
