A beautiful blend of cultures coming together for Iris & Adler’s wedding day
Back in April I had the pleasure of photographing Iris & Adler’s wedding day at the beautiful coastal venue, Titchwell Manor, located just a stones throw from the stunning North Norfolk Coastline.
I & A’s beautiful wedding combined traditional Chinese and English wedding elements, celebrating both love and culture, and I am so excited to share my experience with you.
MORNING PREPARATIONS.
The day started nice and early as I arrived at Titchwell Manor on a dry and clear day, which is often unheard of amid ‘April showers’ season! I headed straight to the brides room to capture some of the amazing traditional details on display. Iris and her close friends and family spent the morning getting ready with the fantastic makeup artist, Veronica Cheng. It’s always a pleasure to be a part of this process and capture those monumental moments, this time in particular was very emotional as Iris’s mother combed her daughters hair and spoke some last minute words of wisdom. By this point there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!
TRADITIONAL TEA CEREMONY.
Once Iris was ready, myself and Norfolk-based videographer, Mike Reid made our way over to the groom’s suite for the tea ceremony. For those who don’t know, the tea ceremony is an essential part of a Chinese wedding as it symbolizes the union of two families. Iris and Adler served tea to their parents and received blessings in return. It was such a touching and emotional moment, and a real honour to capture it.
THE CEREMONY.
As Iris changed into her English wedding dress, it was time to head over to the main Manor house where guests were arriving. The Conservatory was dressed with the most beautiful blush pink blooms by The Flower House, with displays lining the aisle and large arch displays situated at the alter.
Iris wore a stunning classic white gown, while Adler looked sharp in a taupe suit. It’s safe to say, during the ceremony the room was filled with so much love and laughter!
TO THE BEACH!
After the vows, canapés and of course, a glass of bubbly, off to the beach we went! We were lucky enough that North Norfolk graced us with some big blue skies just in time, that being said, sandy Brancaster Beach looks beautiful come rain or shine. Iris and Adler made my job easy as they looked so natural, again delivering endless smiles!
BACK TO TITCHWELL MANOR.
Once we arrived back at Titchwell Manor the Conservatory had been transformed into a blush pink paradise, with so many lovely details making it truly personable to the couples personalities. Before guests tucked into their delicious wedding breakfast it was time for speeches, all before heading back outside to capture those desirable golden hour photos, with the venues striking surroundings acting as the perfect backdrop.
TIME TO PARTY!
After a quick outfit change for I & A, it was about time to let the evening celebrations commence. Iris looked gorgeous in her Chinese gown, with Adler’s suits complimenting it perfectly. The evening entailed many more special moments, from sparklers to the couples first dance and some games! It was such a fun and lively celebration, and the perfect representation of blending Iris and Adler’s cultures.
From start to finish it was such an honour to be a part of I & A’s beautiful day, as a photographer being able to capture their love for one another and the blending of their cultures through my lens was such a wonderful experience.
