NEIL SENIOR – Cambridgeshire wedding photographer
Cambridgeshire College Wedding Photographer
Now and again, a wedding comes along that’s so full of heart, history and really good people, you can’t help but feel like you’ve stepped into someone’s love story mid-epic. That’s exactly what Lindsay and Josh’s Cambridge wedding felt like, warm, wonderful, and truly them from start to finish.
Morning calm
The day kicked off with Lindsay getting ready just off Kings Street in a lovely Airbnb, while Josh set up HQ at The Black Bull in Balsham (spoiler: also their reception venue!).
From the moment I arrived, it was clear this pair weren’t into fuss — just genuine moments with their favourite people. You know when the bridal prep room has more laughter than hairspray? That’s my kind of wedding morning.

Selwyn College Chapel ceremony
The ceremony was held at the beautiful Selwyn College Chapel on Grange Road — one of Cambridge’s hidden gems if you ask me. No photo restrictions meant I could quietly capture all the big glances, wobbly smiles and the moment they became Mr & Mrs Bland, framed by stained glass and beaming guests. Cambridge wedding photography doesn’t get better than this — timeless venue, relaxed couple, pure joy.
After the “I do’s”, we made the most of the sunshine in the college gardens with canapés and fizz. Top tip: Prosecco always helps the group shots go down well.

A big red bus and pub with history
Now, this bit I loved. Instead of a classic car, they hopped on a red bus with their guests and headed to The Black Bull in Balsham — a gorgeous 16th-century pub. Not only did these two meet in a pub, but they also ran a Cambridge historical pub tour business. Honestly, if you could bottle a couple’s story and pour it into a venue, this was it.
The pub garden made for cracking candid shots — guests chatting in little corners, kids chasing bubbles, and everyone celebrating together.

FOOD, FIRST DANCES & FIZZ
Dinner was hearty and full of laughter, followed by speeches that were the perfect mix of soppy and silly. Their first dance to Richard Hawley’s ‘Baby You’re My Light’, performed live by the talented Ben Brandist of Idle Noise, had everyone swaying.
The evening rolled on with dancing, dessert tables, bacon butties and more pizza chat than I could ever have hoped for. That’s my kind of vibe.
