Summer weddings, they’re a bit like a perfectly brewed cup of tea on a sunny afternoon in the garden – absolutely spot on! In case you’re new around here, I’m Neil from Neil Senior Photography, and I’ve got to tell you, I’m a sucker for a good summer wedding. There’s something about them that just gets me every time. Let me give you the rundown with my 3 reasons why you should plan a summer wedding.

First off, let’s talk about that golden hour sunset – it’s like nature’s own Instagram filter, isn’t it? There’s nothing quite like the warm, soft light bathing everything in a golden glow, making every photo look like a million quid. It’s during these moments, I find myself snapping away, capturing those unguarded, hearty laughs and tender looks exchanged when everyone’s basking in the sunset. And let’s be honest, a beach backdrop in Norfolk during this time? It’s like the cherry on top of the wedding cake – picturesque, serene, and just downright lovely.

Then there’s the garden games – I mean, who doesn’t love a cheeky round of giant Jenga or a spirited tug of war after a couple of bubbly? It’s during these times you see Aunt Mabel rolling up her sleeves, ready to show the youngsters how it’s done, and I can’t help but capture those candid, belly-laugh moments. It’s all about the spontaneous, natural shots that really tell the story of the day. No stiff poses or forced smiles, just pure, unadulterated joy and a bit of friendly competition.
3. The Great Outdoors
And let’s not forget the sheer bliss of being outdoors. There’s something magical about saying your ‘I dos’ under the vast, open sky, surrounded by nature and the people you love. It’s like the whole world’s celebrating with you.
