Rob and Eleanor
From the moment that Rob and Eleanor reached out to me to capture their Norfolk wedding, I knew it was going to be a celebration full of meaningful touches, timeless tradition, and a relaxed vibe that perfectly suited my laid-back, natural photography style. Held on a beautiful September day, Rob and Eleanor’s wedding was filled with personal moments and a focus on family, history, and romance. Here’s a glimpse into their memorable day.
A Morning of EXCITEMENT and Anticipation at Congham Hall Hotel
The day started with each of them preparing in separate rooms at the beautiful Congham Hall Hotel in King’s Lynn. Rob spent the morning with his best man, his father, his brother-in-law, and his stepfather, enjoying some pre-wedding camaraderie. Eleanor, meanwhile, had her mum, sister, and soon-to-be sister-in-law by her side. Hair styling was beautifully done by Claire Calton, with Michelle Bennett providing makeup for the bridal party, adding the final touches to everyone’s look.
As part of a touching tradition, Eleanor and Rob exchanged gifts through their Maid of Honour and Best Man before seeing each other at the church. Transported to the church in a wedding car by Silverline Limousines, Eleanor made her arrival, with the anticipation and excitement building in every moment.
A Timeless Church Ceremony at St Mary’s Church, South Wootton
The ceremony took place at the charming St Mary’s Church in South Wootton, where approximately 46 close friends and family members gathered to witness their vows. True to their vision, Rob and Eleanor kept things traditional, not seeing each other until Sarah’s arrival at 1 pm. The church, set along Church Lane, was a beautiful backdrop for capturing that first look as Sarah walked down the aisle with her father.
Two emotional readings were delivered by Eleanor’s cousin and Rob’s stepdad, adding a deeply personal touch to their vows. With stunning floral arrangements by Roz Hamilton, the traditional setting and the close-knit group of guests made for an intimate, meaningful ceremony. I captured plenty of family photos and candid moments, just as they’d envisioned, as they exchanged their vows and made their commitment to each other official.
A Picturesque Reception at Pentney Abbey
After the ceremony, guests made their way to Pentney Abbey, a stunning historical venue with a timeless gatehouse that Rob and Eleanor had fallen in love with. The neutral tones and elegant setting complemented their colour scheme perfectly, with ambient lighting and decor provided by Epic Event Hire. The grounds at Pentney Abbey provided a beautiful backdrop for photos, and I took full advantage of the late afternoon light to capture relaxed shots of the couple, as well as candid moments of guests mingling during the drinks reception. Megan Culley, the wedding planner included in the package, ensured the day flowed seamlessly.
With a mix of formal catering for the wedding breakfast and informal options for the evening, the reception was a relaxed celebration. Guests enjoyed canapés, roasted s’mores around the fire, and the sparkle of evening sparklers that lit up the night.
celebrating in style
For the evening’s entertainment, Rob and Eleanor chose Jak Ropa as their DJ, setting a lively tone on the dance floor with a mix of tunes to suit every guest. Their commitment to each other shone brightly, bringing an end to an unforgettable day.
