MULTICULTURAL WEDDING AT OXNEAD HALL NORFOLK
Oxnead Hall Wedding
From start to finish the stunning mixed heritage wedding of Chamaale and James at Oxnead Hall in Norfolk was one of importance. Blending their two cultures was beautifully evident throughout their day, from breaking the coconut to wearing a white dress, you’ll soon see why this wedding was an absolute delight to photograph.
On a beautiful autumnal day, Chamaale and James tied the knot, and it was perfection from start to finish. Oxnead Hall is a luxurious venue nestled in the Norfolk countryside; a truly idyllic place, with all the right elements to make their day a special one.
Their outdoor wedding ceremony included many traditions from Chamaale’s Hindu culture including the breaking of the coconut which was just one of the significant and fun additions to their wedding at Oxnead Hall. The coconut represents both fertility and blessings of the goddess Shiva and was a prominent part of the ceremony and is an important part of a marriage ritual in Hindu culture. It was a delight to be able to capture a significant moment and the traditional dancers down the aisle were also a personal highlight for me too!
Chamaale and James’ attire stayed true to their roots with complementary changes to match their multicultural wedding. Chamaale wore a traditional style Indian wedding dress in a beautiful white with the most intricate embroidered details and colourful Hindu jewellery to complete her exquisite look. Her bridesmaids and flower girls wore soft pink gowns that complemented her beautifully. James and his groomsmen wore traditional three-piece navy suits with colourful floral ties to match the pops of colour that featured throughout their wedding day.
For the reception, Chamaale wore a paired-back simple white wedding ballgown that she could dance the night away in. It was great to have two very different bridal looks to photograph!
With a traditional and homely nod to both bride and groom the room (or garden) was filled with love. The flowers were wild, rustic and full of colour. They complimented the greenery of the venue gardens and adorned the outfits of the wedding party for a beautifully cohesive look. These carried through onto the yummy three-tier cake. A naked base decorated with bright red florals with a touch of greenery and blackberries and figs – the perfect seasonal fruits for this autumnal wedding at Oxnead Hall.
To end the day of their stunning multicultural wedding the fun continued with love and laughter as they danced the night away!
