NEIL SENIOR – DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Sustainable practices as a UK Wedding Photographer
As a chap wielding a camera at your weddings, I’ve come to realise that my love for capturing your precious moments comes with a bit of an environmental footprint. From the buzzing energy of editing to travelling across the UK to your stunning wedding venues, it’s a bit of a conundrum for someone keen on keeping our planet green, so I thought I’d share the sustainable practices I’m committed to making as a UK wedding photographer.
I’ve gone and teamed up with the brilliant folks at Carbon Neutral Britain & Trees for Life to add a shade of green to our shared memories. For every couple that trusts me with their big day, I plant a tree. That’s right – your love story grows a tree!
Carbon Neutral Britain
By diving into carbon offsetting, I’m stepping up the game to make an even more significant impact. Each year, I’m set to offset 20 tonnes of CO². To put that into perspective, that’s over 133% of the average emissions produced by a person in the UK over the same period. This effort doesn’t just bring me to carbon neutrality; it propels me into being carbon positive!
But there’s more to the story. With my monthly contribution to this noble cause, Carbon Neutral Britain is planting 30 trees in my name every month. It’s like sowing seeds of hope for our planet, one tree at a time. Click here to learn more about Carbon Neutral Britain.
Introducing My Wild Wedding Grove
Early 2024 marked the start of something pretty special – my very own Wild Wedding Grove. It’s more than just a spot of land; it’s a growing testament to love, life, and a little bit of eco-magic.
Each tree planted not only stands for your beautiful beginnings but joins the effort to restore the lush Caledonian Forest, helping to preserve our furry and feathered friends like the red squirrel and the majestic golden eagle.
This grove isn’t just a bunch of trees; it’s a sanctuary where love and nature intertwine, and you can visit all the trees within my grove by clicking here.
Preserving More Than Just Memories
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all about photographing those precious wedding moments, but why stop there? If I can capture the beauty of our natural backdrops, I reckon I should do my bit to protect them too. Here’s a look at how I’m turning my passion into something more planet-friendly:
- Paperless Perfection: Contracts, forms, and invoices? All online, cutting down on the tree-chopping.
- Digital Catch-ups: Let’s chat over video calls, emails, or good old-fashioned phone calls.
- Digital Downloads: Wave goodbye to USB sticks; your photos come as high-res downloads now.
- Home Base: Working from home means less time in the car and more time with my plants.
- Power Up Responsibly: Rechargeable batteries are the way to go for all my gear.
- Volunteering: When I’m not behind the lens, you might find me with the RSPB, looking after our bird buddies along the Norfolk coast.
- Carbon Neutral Commitment: Teamed up with Carbon Neutral Britain to offset those unavoidable emissions.
- Eco-Friendly Albums: Big shoutout to Folio Albums for their commitment to crafting stunning, eco-conscious albums.
