NEIL SENIOR – Cambridgeshire wedding photographer
Award Winning Holmewood Hall Wedding Photographer
When I first met Charlotte and Harry, they described themselves as a quiet couple who wanted a laid-back wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family. Fast forward to August, and that’s exactly what they created – a relaxed, joy-filled celebration at the beautiful Holmewood Hall.

GETTING READY
The morning started off slow and calm (my favourite kind of wedding morning!). Charlotte got ready in the Courtyard Cottage with her bridal party, with Jade Hill Hair working her magic and Becky from Legendary Makeup UK keeping things chilled. I love photographing those little in-between moments – the laughs, the nerves, the quiet glances in the mirror – they say just as much as the big moments.
Meanwhile, Harry was just across the way in the Lord Beamer room, buttoning up his suit and sharing a few jokes with his family. One of the best things about Holmewood Hall is everything’s in one place, so you never feel rushed – it’s all just a short wander away.

The Ceremony at Holmewood Hall
The Golden Room made such a stunning setting for the ceremony. Big windows, soft light, and a real sense of grandeur – but still intimate enough that you could feel the emotion between them. When Charlotte walked in, you could see Harry’s whole face light up.
The ceremony itself was simple and heartfelt, just how they wanted it. Lots of happy tears, a few laughs, and before we knew it, they were husband and wife.

DRINKS, CANAPÉS AND TIME TOGETHER
Afterwards, everyone spilled out onto the lawns for drinks and canapés. Holmewood’s grounds are beautiful in summer, so guests had plenty of space to relax and catch up. For me, this is the golden hour for candid shots – people chatting, kids running around, and the couple having a few quiet moments to soak it all in.
The wedding breakfast kicked off in the main hall, with tables beautifully dressed and flowers by Blank Space Events bringing everything together. Speeches were tucked between mains and dessert, and they were just the right mix of heartfelt and funny (the kind that makes people laugh one minute and dab their eyes the next).
Once the cake was cut and the first dance had wrapped up, the DJ kept the party going into the evening. The atmosphere was relaxed, just like Charlotte and Harry wanted – plenty of dancing, plenty of laughs, and everyone properly letting their hair down.

FINAL THOUGHTS
What I loved most about Charlotte and Harry’s day was how them it felt – nothing over the top, no fuss, just a celebration that put people first. Surrounded by family, grounded in a beautiful setting, and with a focus on enjoying every single moment together.
Charlotte and Harry – thank you for having me along to capture it all. Wishing you both all the happiness in the world.
If you’re looking for a Cambridge wedding photographer – I’d love to hear from you!
