Relaxed Autumnal Wedding at Henham Barns

Today we have a relaxed soiree in the picturesque surroundings of Henham Barns, Suffolk; Martha and Antoni’s wedding with its laid-back vibe was a day of romance as the autumnal sun shone down.

My moment-capturing day started with the bride and her bridal party at The Swan Hotel, Southwold. Martha and the girls were all relaxed and full of excitement for the day ahead. Photographing a wedding from the very start ensures that you don’t miss out on the extra moments that make up your day. From capturing the bouquets arriving to the moments of excitement and joy that surround your wedding party before the main event.

The couple chose Henham Barns for both their ceremony and reception. It’s a unique wedding venue in the tranquil countryside of historic Henham Park. It’s the perfect country venue with beautiful scenery that has been designed to enable you to create the wedding you’ve always dreamed of, and Martha and Antoni did just that!

Martha wore a vintage-inspired dress with a laid-back vibe. Made of a soft chiffon fabric it was the perfect dress for this relaxed and rustic day. Her bridesmaids wore a simple teal-coloured dress that matched the seasonal look. Their looks were finished off with complementary wraps to keep the chill off whilst we got some beautiful outdoor shots. Martha’s beautiful bouquet was finished with a long trailing ribbon which was perfect for the scenic shots and the windy weather out in this countryside setting.

Antoni and his groomsmen wore mismatched suits that complemented the colour scheme and kept the autumnal colours running throughout. Their ‘ringbearer’ was my fave by far! Who doesn’t love a dog at a wedding? Their beautiful little spaniel pup of course had a matching floral buttonhole adorning his collar. 

The colour teal ran through into the wedding breakfast decor where beautifully styled trestle tables seated their 130 wedding day guests. If you’re currently having the round or trestle table debate this wedding should give you some stunning inspiration for how beautiful trestles can look. They’re perfect for a relaxed wedding and I always find it provides a less formal feel on a wedding day.
The flowers featured throughout were wild and romantic. As well as the wedding party florals they sat beautifully wild in simple pots on the tables. With a mixture of seasonal dried florals and grasses in rustic autumnal colours, they matched Martha and Antoni’s theme and Henham Barns perfectly.
After cutting their semi-naked rustic cake adorned in fresh flowers, they served mini desserts and Indian pale lager in cans before partying the night away! A fun and relaxed soiree that was the perfect day for the two of them!

Fun Fact About Martha and Antoni –  Toto’s Africa is the tune that you’ll see them breaking moves on the dancefloor too!
