Godwick Barn Norfolk wedding photographer
Katie and Andy’s Norfolk Wedding at Godwick Barn
Back in August, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Katie and Andy’s wedding at the stunning Godwick Barn in rural Norfolk. It was one of those days where everything just clicked – the venue, the vibe, and even their handsome dog, Jovi, who made a special appearance! If there’s one thing I love more than a Norfolk wedding, it’s capturing couples in a natural, authentic way – no cheesy love talk here! Keep reading to delve into Katie and Andy’s wedding day highlights.
A BEAUTIFUL DAY AT GODWICK BARN
Godwick Hall and Great Barn was the perfect backdrop for Katie and Andy’s big day. If you’ve never been, it’s a magical spot tucked away in rural Norfolk, ideal for couples wanting something rustic but special. The ceremony kicked off at 2pm with 102 guests in attendance, including close family and friends, all gathered to watch these two tie the knot.
And let’s not forget Jovi, their dog, who absolutely stole the show! He looked dapper and added that extra touch of personality to the day. I always love when couples involve their pets – it makes everything feel that much more personal.
FUN AND GAMES FOR EVERYONE
After the ceremony, the fun really began. The drinks reception kicked off at 2:30pm with canapés and plenty of garden games to keep everyone entertained – we’re talking mini golf, Connect 4, and more! The games were supplied by Serendipity Wedding Hire, while the couple brought along a few of their own, keeping the festival vibe in full swing.
Katie and Andy hopped on a tractor ride to the ruins for some couple’s portraits – a tradition at Godwick Hall and one of my favourite moments of the day. The weather was perfect, and it was a great chance for them to have a few minutes to themselves before rejoining their guests for the wedding breakfast.
A FEAST AND A TOAST
The wedding breakfast, catered by The Hogless Roast, was served at 4pm. The food was absolutely top-notch – I even got a plate, so thank you, Katie and Andy! The informal, laid-back vibe carried on throughout the meal, and by the time we headed back outside for the speeches and first dance, everyone was well-fed and ready for more fun. The first dance was something truly special. Katie’s father, Ralph, along with their daughter Skye and best man Dave, performed “This Kind of Love” by Sister Hazel. It’s moments like this that make weddings unforgettable, and I was so honoured to capture it all.
LIVE MUSIC, MAGIC AND MAC ‘N’ CHEESE
As the sun set, the party really kicked off. Live music was provided by The Hot Crumbs, with three incredible sets that had everyone up and dancing. Andy even took the stage for a 20-minute set with his band, Datum Plane, which was a massive hit. Evening food was served at 8:45pm – a delicious vegan mac ‘n’ cheese that hit the spot before everyone hit the dancefloor again.
The night wrapped up with last orders at 12, and by 12:30am, carriages were waiting to take everyone home after an unforgettable day.
