What is an engagement shoot?
An engagement shoot in Norfolk is the perfect way to personally connect with your wedding photographer. As a documentary photographer I feel it is very important to offer you the opportunity to meet with me prior to your wedding, this is very important. An engagement or pre wedding shoot is a photo shoot on location, giving you both the opportunity to get to know your wedding photographer, their style, and how they work on the wedding day.
What to expect from your engagement session
I will arrange your engagement shoot in the lead up to your wedding usually around 8 months before, this fantastic ice breaker session is the perfect opportunity for the three of us to become better acquainted and for you to gain more of a feel for my informal photography approach. I also like to find out more about you both and your wedding plans. Sessions last for around 90 minutes and an edited selection of images from your shoot will be uploaded onto a private viewing gallery with a professional print store.
Norfolk Engagement Shoot Locations
There is an array of Norfolk engagement shoot locations to choose from and although your wedding venue is an obvious choice, why not make the most of choosing an alternative location in Norfolk for the backdrop to your pre wedding photo shoot with me? Maybe venture the landscape along the North Norfolk coastline to a spot that has sentimental value to you both, or let’s grab a coffee in your favourite coffee shop in Norwich, perhaps enjoy an ice cream on Cromer pier or take in the sunset to the West of Norfolk around Hunstanton? There’s a host of Norfolk country parks, woodlands, and waterways to explore inland too.
Engagement Photography FAQ's
What should we wear for our shoot?
It is important to sensibly marry fashion and comfort when considering what to wear for your engagement shoot. Remember you both will always look amazing together! I understand couples like to use this photo shoot as an opportunity to dress up but please avoid clothing with large prints or logos. It can also be a little cool on the day so remember your favourite jacket and sensible footwear; a must for venturing out in the Norfolk countryside in certain seasons.
What time of day is the best for our engagement session?
The best time of day to book your engagement session when it comes to natural light is late afternoon into the evening. This fantastic time has a wonderful soft lighting, you can both enjoy a sunset on the beach or a dramatic sky to end your enjoyable, relaxed and informal engagement shoot.
Do you travel outside of Norfolk to photograph engagement shoots?
Yes, absolutely! My wedding photography service includes an engagement shoot in Norfolk. If you have a location outside of Norfolk in mind, mileage would be calculated and quoted separately depending on the location you wanted to go. I am happy to travel as UK wedding photographer. I would love to hear from you!
