NEIL SENIOR – Ely, Cambridgeshire wedding photographer
Ely Wedding Photographer, Cambridgeshire
Neil here, a Cambridgeshire wedding photographer with a love for storytelling through relaxed, natural photography. I recently had the absolute joy of capturing Uta and Rob’s spring wedding in two of my favourite Cambridgeshire locations: the historic town of St Neots and the beautifully intimate Poets House in Ely.
A Morning Full of Meaning
The day started early with a 10:30am ceremony at St Neots Parish Church, St Mary the Virgin. Uta got ready at home, surrounded by a calm atmosphere that perfectly matched her grounded energy. Meanwhile, Rob prepped for the big day at his parents’ house, a lovely nod to family traditions.
No photography restrictions at the church meant I could capture everything from the emotional walk down the aisle to the joy-filled vows. It was such a lovely service, with personal touches and German elements woven in to honour Uta’s heritage.

A Short And Sweet Guestlist
After a few relaxed group photos outside the church (Uta and Rob wisely kept it short and sweet—always a win in my book!), we made our way to Poets House in Ely. Guests arrived from 2:30pm, and the intimate vibe of the venue perfectly suited their vision. It felt more like a big family lunch than a formal wedding reception—and I mean that in the best possible way.
Speeches took place before the wedding breakfast, which meant guests could sit back, relax, and fully enjoy their meal without a looming sense of stage fright!

Poets House, Ely
Uta and Rob were clear, they didn’t want a big corporate hotel. They chose Poets House because it felt genuinely welcoming and personal. With free parking nearby, beautifully styled interiors, and the added sentiment of Rob’s parents having celebrated their wedding reception in Ely—it was the ideal setting.
This wasn’t a wedding full of glitz and fanfare. It was real. It was personal. It was joyful. Every decision Uta and Rob made reflected who they are: loving, thoughtful, and down-to-earth.
There was no evening reception or dancefloor. No need for magicians or dessert tables. This wedding was about connection, conversation, and quality time with the people who matter most. And honestly, it was perfect.

A huge shoutout to the talented suppliers who helped make the day so special:
