Informal Engagement Shoot in Cley Next the Sea
I was delighted when Matilda and Ben agreed to their Cley engagement shoot on the beautiful and picturesque North Norfolk coast, the prime location being the Windmill at Cley next the Sea. I met with this lovely couple in a traditional local pub, the Wiveton Bell for a drink and a catch up regarding their wedding plans, before we headed round the quaint village taking advantage of local sports such as Cley smokehouse, Crabpot books, the surrounding Marshland and of course the iconic Cley windmill.
Matilda & Ben are a vibrant and fun filled couple who headed to Cley beach with me for some awesome beach front engagement photos, as they both chased the waves I rolled up my jeans and took a dip in the ocean. We ended of the day with intimate photos on the shingle with the big skies of Norfolk offering a beautiful backdrop to this fantastic Cley engagement shoot.
What is an engagement shoot?
What this couples photography session should be is fun, relaxed, informal, and a perfect opportunity for my couples to get to know me and my informal approach as their wedding photographer and to help them feel more comfortable on their wedding day. It’s also an opportunity for us to discuss any wedding day plans over a drink.
When should we book our shoot?
As a photographer I always recommend that we head out for your engagement shoot late afternoon into the evening to make the most of the flattering, soft light at this time. You can book your shoot with me from 6 months leading up to your to your wedding day.
What should we wear to our shoot?
it’s important that you feel comfortable but also that little bit special for your shoot, try not to wear anything with patterns that are too busy or have large obvious logos. Remember of course if it’s a little on the cool side to bring along your favourite hat or scarf and sensible footwear is a must of course for venturing out in the Norfolk countryside.
