Becky & Zak’s Laid-Back Day at Chaucer Barn
Some weddings are full-blown productions, others are more like a great big house party – Becky and Zak’s day at Chaucer Barn was definitely the latter. Relaxed, fun, and packed with the people that mattered most to them. It was a proper good time from start to finish.

Wedding Day Preperations
Nothing too fussy about the morning, just how I like it. Zak got ready with his groomsmen down in the Black Room – bit of banter, a few beers, and the usual struggle with buttonholes.
Becky was upstairs with her crew (bridesmaids, bridesmen, mum) getting ready in the Flint Room. Hair was being done, tunes were on, and spirits were high. You could tell it was going to be a good day.

The Ceremony: Short, sweet & full of love
They tied the knot between 2 and 3pm with a few extra minutes thrown in for good measure. It was all about the atmosphere – chilled, heartfelt and a bit of humour thrown in. Just the way it should be.
Chaucer Barn’s garden setting made for a stunning backdrop, and honestly, this venue never misses. Whether it’s blazing sun or a cloudy Norfolk day, the place always looks top.

Garden games, good food & drinks
After the ceremony, everyone spilled outside for drinks, photos, and some garden games. Plenty of space to spread out, have a laugh, and enjoy the scenery. This is what makes Chaucer Barn one of my all-time faves – it feels like you’re on a chilled-out countryside retreat.
Food was served up around 5.30pm by the excellent Churros & Chorizo. Everyone loved the spread, easy-going and seriously tasty.

First Dance & good times!
The first dance rolled out to “Lost Boy” by Ruth B… simple, no fuss, just Becky and Zak doing their thing. No big spotlight moment, no confetti cannons, just a tune that means something and a room full of happy people watching on.
From there, it was all about chilling, chatting, a bit of dancing, and more drinks from the brilliant Philly & Foal Bar. Tables and chairs came courtesy of Banqueting Hire, and the setup fit the space perfectly.
Why This Day Worked
Becky and Zak kept things simple: great venue, great people, and no pressure to do anything over-the-top. It felt more like a big get-together than a rigid schedule. Everyone just had a proper laugh and from behind the camera, those are the weddings that are the most fun to shoot. Massive congrats to B&Z – thanks for having me along to capture the day.
