NEIL SENIOR – documentary Suffolk wedding photographer
Beetlebank Farm Wedding Photographer, Suffolk
Beth and James’s wedding at Beetlebank Farm in Suffolk was as relaxed and nature-infused as they are. This was a day planned with the couple’s deep connection to the outdoors, music, and meaningful moments in mind, giving guests a refreshing and laid-back celebration. As a documentary wedding photographer, capturing their day felt like stepping into a Suffolk countryside festival.
Connecting through nature
Beth and James met by pure chance at their local pub, the kind of story that sounds almost serendipitous. James was out with friends, and Beth was picking up a takeaway for a friend’s hen do. From that moment, they hit it off and found a shared love for nature, music, and food. Their favourite days are spent outdoors, exploring the countryside with their children and dogs or at festivals, soaking up live music.
This easygoing vibe set the tone for their wedding, which was a simple yet meaningful celebration that felt completely natural and true to them.
the beautiful venue: Beetlebank farm
Beetlebank Farm in Bramfield was the perfect setting for their “big party in a field” vision. Owned by a friend, this place is one they’d long admired. Nestled among sprawling fields and trees, it’s a location that feels grounded and peaceful—a true hidden gem in Suffolk. They chose this spot not just for its natural beauty but because it’s close to their home and friends, adding a personal layer to the day.
Standing beneath a large oak tree, Beth and James exchanged vows in a heartfelt hand-fasting ceremony led by a friend who acted as their celebrant. With music in the background and the open sky above, it felt more like a gathering of close friends and family than a formal affair—exactly the vibe they were going for.
laid-back pre-wedding prep
Beth got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids, with Justine Bedwell styling her hair and Antonia Leverall designing her dress. She completed her look with a stylish jacket by Marie, which added a lovely personal touch. Vicky Uff’s flowers added natural beauty and warm colours that echoed the landscape, tying everything together beautifully.
Meanwhile, James and his friends prepared the ceremony site, setting up rustic decor that complemented the earthy setting. Capturing these candid, behind-the-scenes moments was a joy, as it showed the hands-on and heartfelt effort they’d put into the day.
Festival vibes
After the ceremony, guests were free to enjoy themselves with good food and music as the day naturally flowed. Charlotte Moon’s delicious pizzas and Olli Platt’s bar kept everyone fuelled and refreshed. With busking-style music, bubbles floating around, and spontaneous records playing, guests were free to mingle, laugh, and dance, creating a festival atmosphere that felt personal and unique.
Sonya Brooks crafted the wedding cake, which was a beautiful centrepiece that matched the informal and joyous spirit of the day. True to Beth and James’s relaxed style, there were no strict schedules or formality—just a heartfelt celebration under the Suffolk sun.
Throughout the day, I focused on capturing the natural, candid moments that Beth and James love. From spontaneous smiles to shared laughter, these were the moments that told their story. Their day was truly earthy, warm, and full of simple, meaningful touches—a true reflection of their love for nature and each other.
